Information
The Oxyd mosaic tile is made of porcelain stoneware and is therefore a classic among mosaics. It is particularly characterized by its metallic look. The design of the mosaic allows for individual design and is particularly suitable for setting accents in different areas.Area of use: The mosaic tile is used in the living area and in the bathroom and is usually laid as a decorative element between tiles. It can be used on both the wall and the floor. In addition, the tile can be used outdoors without hesitation thanks to its frost protection.Advantages of mosaic tiles:Easy to care for: Since mosaic tiles made of porcelain stoneware are very robust, they are very easy to care for and clean. In most cases, the tiles can be cleaned with warm water as they are dirt-repellent.Abrasion group 3: The tile is suitable for areas with medium-heavy use. This includes floor coverings in living rooms, bedrooms or hobby rooms, but also in bathrooms.Slip resistance: The mosaic tile has the slip resistance group R10. This means that it has a normal coefficient of friction. The tile is therefore safe to walk on at angles of inclination of 10-19° and is suitable for kitchens and sanitary rooms.Barefoot area: The tile is suitable for the barefoot area of group B. This means a minimum angle of inclination of 18°. Therefore, tiles with this property are suitable for shower areas and pool surrounds.Colored: The shards of the tile are color-matched to the surface of the tile during coloring. This means that color deviations in damaged areas are rather unnoticeable. The shards of the tile are its back.Rectified edges: The porcelain stoneware tile is pressed into shape during production. This creates a slightly angled edge. In rare cases, these edges are uniform. Therefore, they are worked on with a diamond saw during the rectification process. This can remove many uneven areas and creates an edge with a 90° angle. This process makes it possible to lay the tiles with very small joints from 2mm.Glazed surface: By applying a glass-like mass to the surface of the tile, an anti-slip surface is achieved. The glaze also serves as a protective layer for the tiles. This is particularly suitable for tiles on walls and floors in living areas.Laying the mosaic tiles:Mosaic tiles are laid like conventional tiles using a tile adhesive. This is applied to the previously primed wall or floor surface. The mosaic can then be pressed on and aligned. To fit perfectly into the desired area, the mosaic tiles can be cut to size with a cutter knife on the mesh-bonded back. After the tiles have been installed, they should still be grouted.
